Hello, I'm Britt

Family Photographer

Hi, I’m Britt—a South Florida native, wife, and mom to two amazing kiddos. Long before I picked up a camera professionally, I was drawn to people, connection, and the moments that often go unnoticed. I earned my master’s degree in family therapy and spent years working in both for-profit and non-profit settings, supporting individuals and families through some of life’s most meaningful and challenging seasons.

Photography found me in much the same way—slowly, honestly, and from the heart. Inspired by my father, Norman, an artist who taught me to truly see the world, I began documenting moments not for perfection, but for connection. What started as a creative outlet became a calling.

Outside the Norm Photography was born from that space—a place where real life is celebrated, stories are honored, and what makes you different is what makes you beautiful.

Unscripted, Honest, and Genuine

my approach

My approach to photography is rooted in listening to my clients and building a trusting, empathetic relationship. I aim to inspire genuine connections by creating a relaxed, fun environment. I love turning photoshoots into playful "play dates" for kids and meaningful experiences for families and individuals alike.

As a mother of two, I bring empathy, patience, and understanding to my work, using my therapy skills to help clients connect deeply with their true selves. Whether you're seeking portraits, family photos, or special memories, I aim to create a supportive space where your genuine personality shines. Let's tell your story—beautifully and authentically.

In loving memory of Norman

a tribute to dad

Outside the Norm Photography was born from the legacy of Norman Alman (1943–2020) — a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose love for life continues to inspire every photo taken under this name.

Norman was many things: a family man whose pride and joy were the people closest to him, an avid hockey fan who never missed a game, and a photo man who had a deep appreciation for capturing life’s moments both big and small. His passion for art and photography, paired with his endless love for family, lives on in the mission of Outside the Norm.

Though we lost him in 2020, his influence remains ever-present — in the light we chase, the memories we preserve, and the joy we find in simple moments. This work is not only a business, but a tribute: a way to carry forward Norman’s spirit, creativity, and love.

Forever in our hearts, and forever the inspiration behind Outside the Norm.
